100-Mile / 8 Week Challenge: Week 2

January 14th, 2008

I’m off to a slow start on my own challenge: a mere 9.8 miles in sum. But in my defense, I am taking a two different strength training classes two times a week each, so I am getting in my exercise. I did two miles this morning walking and running (but mostly running), and my knee still feels good. I guess it really takes time off due to an injury to really appreciate being healthy! I’m calling the next two weeks half-marathon preliminary training; if all continues to go well with my knee, I’ll officially start training for the Country Music Half Marathon on Monday, 1/28! More mileage next week…I swear!

Great seeing you this morning! I was going to do something silly and crazy to get your attention as you were so diligently doing your squats, but in the end decided to maintain a little dignity. :)

I’m glad the knee is still holding up…good news. You’ll get your 100-miles in time. I know you.

    See you in class tomorrow!

For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. —1 Corinthians 1:18
