Readers Decide: A Fool of Myself or SarahJoAustin.com?

Chris and I are having a little debate about naming blogs. As I announced a few weeks ago, I dropped the A Fool of Myself moniker for SarahJoAustin.com because I think using my name is more professional. I use part of this blog for my resume and portfolio, and if necessary, I might like to point potential clients to the work that I post here.
Chris thinks that using SarahJoAustin.com as the name of my blog is boring. He thinks A Fool of Myself is more quirky–more like me. I’ll be changing up the color scheme and images in the next week or so, and as Chris works on my monogram, which will be implemented on this blog, I’m wondering if I made a mistake and if I should change the blog name back to A Fool of Myself (the URL would still remain SarahJoAustin.com).
So my question is which do you prefer? On your blog or blogs that you read, do you prefer the Name.com format for the blog’s name or do you prefer a more original name for a blog? Let me know by leaving a comment!

I think either way would work fine. A Fool of Myself is funnier and shows a little more personality, but may not be overly professional… you could probably pull it off though!

From a professional viewpoint, and from the vantage of someone who DOES google-stalk potential hires…..stick with the sarahjoaustin……..

I don’t know how I feel about AFoM/SJA.com. I like AFoM. I think it’s catchy and interesting. But your name can be your Branding, too. The main example I think of is, of course, Penelope Trunk, whose name now wasn’t her real name originally.
Couldn’t you have both? I just realized when I was at PT’s site that she has both her name and her site title (and now blog network name) in the name of her blog: “Penelope Trunk’s Brazen Careerist.” Could you be “Sarah Jo Austin’s A Fool of Myself”? Or adopt another name that describes your blog’s goals/personality/subject matter? Since you took down the quote where you got your title from, it’s not very obvious why your blog is called AFoM anyway.
Yikes, I feel like I’m being a little harsh, but honest. I like the new color scheme, by the way. It’s fresh and for some reason feels more mature to me.

I like the idea of “Sarah Jo Austin’s A Fool of Myself.” I still like that quote I used before, and I’d like to put it back up (original CSS doesn’t include it). Chris also suggested that I could use the header block to showcase some more of my personality and/or photography.
I like my color scheme, too. You know how we always joke about our sites looking like clown pants? Well, I looked up the fashion trends for 2009 and made use of upcoming colors!

Hey Sarah - your friend Linden recommended your blog on a recent posting of mine discussing my favourite feeds.
I came over to check it out and I like what you’re doing here. The funniest thing is that you probably noticed I also commented on your OTHER blog BloggersGuide.net earlier today, which I came across on Digg - Small world indeed!
Anyway I just started blogging and can barely keep up with one blog so I don’t know how you manage two (and well-written ones at that!) Kudos.
As for the discussion here - I would put in a vote for A Fool of Myself - I think it is quite interesting and as a new visitor it piqued my interest when Linden had it on her list of must-reads. You can always still keep SarahJoAustin.com and re-direct it, ten use that URL on resumes, etc.
The idea of having SarahJoAustin’s A Fool of Myself is also a good compromise. I’m interested to see which option you choose!

@daniel It is really funny that you found my other blog. It’s not really secret, but I’m sort of keeping it on the DL while I develop it, so I haven’t actually announced it here yet.
As for the name, I’m starting to like Sarah Jo Austin is A Fool of Myself. That might be too pretentious, but it’s what I like right now.
